The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has launched its 2024/2025 Annual Report at the Integrity Centre, detailing that 152 out of 166 officers failed integrity exams, 4 passed while 10 were inconclusive.
Unveiled by Chairperson Dr. David Oginde, accompanied by the Commissioners and CEO Mr. Abdi Mohamud, the report, dated Monday, December 8, 2025, indicated that the tests were done on government agencies, including NPS, Land Ministry, among others.
The Commission also detailed that 79 asset recovery suits were filed in 2025, the highest in the last five years, targeting assets worth Ksh 4.8 billion and successfully recovering Ksh 3.4 billion.
Through timely intelligence interventions, EACC further averted losses amounting to Ksh 16.5 billion.
In addition, the period also saw convictions rise significantly, from 12 to 33, a clear indication of strengthened investigative and prosecutorial efforts.
The commission continued its stellar performance by blocking 50 people from appointment to public office over ethical concerns in 2024/2025.
Furthermore, the commission indicated that it participated significantly more in multi-agency collaborations and youth engagement initiatives.
Despite these impressive gains, the Commission acknowledges several persistent challenges, including weak enforcement of Chapter Six, interference with witnesses, intimidation of officers, institutional silos, and widespread public apathy.
With the International Anti-Corruption Day on December 9, 2025, EACC has called for collective responsibility and renewed commitment to integrity and good governance.
