Mutahi Ngunyi Attacked Over Tweet Alleging Interior CS Was Assassinated

Popular political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi received a backlash from netizens after he posted a controversial statement on the death of former Interior Cabinet Secretary (CS) Joseph Nkaissery.

Through his verified Twitter account, Ngunyi sensationally claimed that the CS was a victim of an assassination. He however, did not name those linked to his death.

This, according to Ngunyi is due to the fact that the CS passed on only 30 days to elections.

Coming at a time when Kenyans are mourning a leader who many remember for his sound leadership and decisive actions in securing the nation, Kenyans on Twitter did not have kind words for Ngunyi.

These are some of the reactions:

I hope you have enough evidence to produce in the court of law. Security ministers do not die.. Just listen to this foolery #RIPNkaissery

Let the necessary authorities conduct post mortem and inform us of the real cause of death. No need to speculate at this point.

— Paul Kiranga (@paul_kiranga) July 8, 2017

Mutahi could be knowing something the rest of us don't know about Nkaissery's demise. He should be taken in and cross-examined by detectives

Spill the beans if you know smthing factual. No speculations. Fact is, his death is very untimely to the elections.

At the time of going to press, Mutahi Ngunyi had not pulled down the tweet even as a section of clearly disappointed netizens urged him to do so.
