Kiambu Governorship Aspirant Ferdinand Waititu Denies Using Witchcraft to Win Nominations

Kiambu governorship aspirant Ferdinand Waititu has responded to claims by his political rivals that he sought services of a witch doctor.

Speaking at a church in Thika, the Kabete Member of Parliament picked up a Bible and swore that he never visited a witchdoctor to win his party's nomination ticket.

"I keep saying that I am saved as much as people doubt it. I want to clearly state that I do not practice witchcraft and that I have never consulted such services in a bid to have any of my issues sorted out. I believe in the power of God," he said.

Incumbent Kiambu Governor William Kabogo also attended the event and started by bashing the politicians present for disrespecting the church.

He stated that they had been given clear instructions to steer clear of politics during their respective speeches but had done the opposite.

"I want to ask the church to pray for us leaders because when we are told not to conduct politics in church, we do exactly that," he said.

Last month, Kabogo insinuated that supernatural powers may have influenced his loss to Waititu in the Jubilee nominations.

He mentioned a witchdoctor who he claimed had been brought from South Sudan by politicians to help them win seats.

“Kiambu is among the counties the witchdoctor has gone to and all his clients have won their different primaries, “ Kabogo revealed in a past interview.

The Governor pointed out that he had not consulted the witchdoctor like his opponents and blamed his loss on the sorcery.

He added that he is deeply religious and would never seek leadership through demonic avenues.
