Jomvu Member of Parliament Badi Twalib Denies Funding Militia Gang

Jomvu Member of Parliament Badi Twalib has distanced himself from allegations that he operates a militia gang in Mombasa.

Recently, Coast Regional Coordinator Nelson Marwa stated that the legislator operated a youth gang that was planning to disrupt operations of the recently launched Standard Gauge Railway and cargo operations in Mombasa.

Badi issued Marwa a stern warning indicating he would take action against the regional coordinator if he does not back his allegations with facts.

He claimed he was being targeted for being a close ally of Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho adding that this was aimed at intimidating him and maligning his name.

“Mr Marwa takes anybody close to Governor Joho as his automatic enemy. He should not intimidate me and I want him to produce evidence [on] the allegations that I operate a youth militia gang,” he said during a press conference.

The MP said that it was the second time Mr Marwa had linked him to a youth militia gang, adding that although he did not actualise his threat of suing the regional administrator when he first made the claims, this time he would.

He accused Mr Marwa of openly campaigning for Jubilee Party and asked him to officially resign from the civil service and join politics.

Mr Marwa had also linked some ODM officials in the county including the county organising secretary Michael Odongo and Mr Charles Rambo from Kisauni with criminal acts and ordered that their arrests.
