ODM Deputy Party Leader Wycliffe Oparanya Warns Wetangula, Accusing Him of Planning to Weaken NASA

Bungoma Senator and Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula has come under attack from his Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) counterpart and Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya.

Speaking in Bungoma when ODM's Alfred Khangati launched his campaigns for the Bungoma governorship race, Oparanya took issues with the senator, accusing him of forcing ODM candidates to step down in favour of candidates from his Ford- Kenya party.

Oparanya warned the senator to stop, accusing him of having a secret agenda to weaken National Super Alliance (NASA) in Western Kenya.

"Why does Wetang'ula want his Ford Kenya party to be treated in a special way?" Oparanya wondered.

He maintained that each party in the coalition was free to field candidates for the various elective posts and congratulated ODM aspirants for declining to step down in favour of Ford Kenya.

The ODM deputy party leader stated that "everyone has a democratic right to contest any elective seat on a party. I sincerely thank ODM candidates for refusing to resign in favour of Ford Kenya."

Attempts by NASA to field joint candidates failed after candidates from the various affiliate party members declined to shelve their bids.
