Kenya's Presidential candidates have been issued with a memo of how they are supposed to dress during the Presidential Debate slated for Monday, 24th July 2017.
According to a document seen by Kenyans.co.ke, the candidates have been asked to put on black, deep grey, navy/dark blue formal business attire.
Party colours, checked attire, luminous gear, traditional or ceremonial clothing will not be permitted.
The candidates are also permitted to bring their own makeup artiste though a professional one will be at their disposal, provided by the Media Debates Limited, organisers of the event.
Topics and Time
The debate will cover Governance, Economy and Social Development and each candidate will be given 90 seconds to make an opening statement, two minutes to respond to the questions asked and 90 seconds for a closing statement.
Who speaks first?
Each candidate will pick a number from a glass vase containing an equal number of pieces of paper as the number of participating candidates and the candidates will speak in the position picked from the glass vase.
Production
All producers and directors are required to be non-partisan and shall not be permitted to take shots aimed at ridiculing a particular candidate. They have also been directed to avoid shots showing the reactions of supporters.
Audience and Venue
The debate will take place at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa and those in attendance are not allowed to cheer, jeer or clap.
