Just a day after police released a list of wanted Al Shabaab terrorists in Kenya, one of the men who had been mentioned has come out saying he is a student.
Salad Tari Gufu, had a Sh2 Million bounty on him and police had described him as armed and dangerous.
Gufu, however, quickly stated that he was not a terrorist via his social media page where he said that he is a 4th-year student at Moi University and is being suspected of a crime he is not capable of.
"Hallo everyone, My name is Salad Tari Gufu I.D No. 31637536 , am a 4th year student pursuing a bachelor's degree in the faculty of education in Moi University (main campus).
"As a citizen and a student, am being suspected for a crime that I am not even capable of.
"My friends know me and attest to my innocence. I, therefore, encourage you all to spread this message of truth.
"#SALAD WASN'T ,ISN'T AND WON'T BE A TERRORIST. Am being criminalized folks. Thank you," he wrote.
Meanwhile, Gufu has surrendered to police in Nairobi.
