IEBC Offices Experience Power Blackout and Kenyans are Enraged

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) found itself in trouble after tweeting that its offices at Anniversary Towers had experienced a power outage.

Kenyans quickly changed the topic to question the commission's preparedness ahead of the August polls.

Some enquired why they (IEBC) did not have a backup generator yet the elections are just around the corner.

Here are some of the reactions:

Don't you have a back up power supply? You are just proving to all that you are a clueless IEBC.

No cause for alarm. Our critical system do not rely on power in this building. All will be well.

Several politicians have questioned IEBC's preparedness ahead of the elections but the commission's chairman, Wafula Chebukati assured Kenyans that they were in safe hands and the polls would be credible.
