8 Killed, Several Injured in Nakuru Accident

Eight people have died and 25 others injured in a grisly road accident at Timboroa along Nakuru-Eldoret Highway.

The accident occurred after a Crown bus travelling from Mombasa to Kakamega collided with a trailer at Hill Top area in Timboroa.

Koibatek OCPD Agnes Kamau stated that the bus driver was overtaking another vehicle in a foggy section of the road when the accident occurred.

She confirmed that among the injured, five were in critical condition and had been admitted to the Mercy Mission Hospital.

Other injured passengers were taken to various hospitals within Eldoret.

The OCPD urged all drivers using the road to be careful during this rainy season to avoid causing more accidents.

"We are advising drivers that with the heavy rains, the roads are slippery and foggy in some areas. They should reduce speed and keep a distance from the next vehicle to avoid such accidents," the OCPD explained.

The accident comes barely a day after 4 people were killed and three others injured in an accident in Nyeri.
