A doctor was found dead outside Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) on Sunday night.
Dr Paul Koigi Ngugi was found lying in his car at the KNH parking lot.
According to his colleagues, Dr Ngugi had been on duty on Saturday night.
He, however, did not go home as usual thus his family members reported his disappearance at the KNH Police Station.
Security guards who were conducting normal patrols at the hospital's yard found his car parked at the same spot on Sunday with his lifeless body inside.
Nairobi Police Boss Japheth Koome stated that the guards alerted police officers who broke the car doors to remove him.
"They thought he was alive and broke the doors to remove him but fellow doctors who came to witness confirmed that he was dead," Koome narrated.
Some of his colleagues suspected Ngugi may have opened his car's (Air Conditioning) AC to warm himself leading to the death.
Dr Ngugi was a member of the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Union (KMPDU).
His body was taken to Kenyatta Hospital mortuary for post-mortem.
