IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba Reveals When They Will Announce Final Presidential Results

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) CEO, Ezra Chiloba, on Wednesday night revealed when the commission would announce the final presidential results.

Speaking at JKL Live,  Mr Chiloba noted that the Constitution provides IEBC with 7 days to announce the results but noted that the commission was working to ensure that the results are released much earlier alluding that it might take four days.

"It will all depend on the efficiency of counting results and network connectivity.

"Our projection is not more than four days," Chiloba stated.

He, however, noted that it might take less than four days and urged members of the public to follow all the instructions and minimize any interference.

While responding to a question on whether he would vote in the elections, the CEO noted that " I choose not to vote".

Mr Chiloba noted that his decision not to vote was mainly because he didn't want his preference to cloud his judgment.

On his future with the commission, the CEO noted that he would stay at IEBC after the election adding that his time at the polls body had been an unmatched experience.

The CEO urged Kenyans to turn up during the voting day and vote for their preferred candidates in a peaceful manner.

"Fellow citizens, for the last two and a half years, we have been planning for this election and now we have 5 days to go. I hope you are gearing up to play your part.

"On our end, we have put in place systems to ensure free, fair and credible election. Turn out, vote and allow the Commission to count and announce the results," Chiloba stated.
