Ukweli party parliamentary candidate for the Starehe constituency, Mr Boniface Mwangi, has conceded defeat.
Mr Mwangi has accepted the provisional results that show Jubilee's candidate Charles Njagua Kanyi to be in the lead.
"The people of Starehe have spoken and l respect their decision. We ran an honest, innovative and revolutionary campaign; we did our best. l am humbled by the love and support l got from all of you.
"This gives me hope in our people and our country. It gives me hope that in 2022, matters of tribe and political party allegiance will no longer be a big deal, as long as you run on issues," Mwangi stated.
As at Wednesday morning, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) results indicated that the Jubilee candidate had gathered 56,635 votes and while Boniface Mwangi was third with 14,757 votes.
The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) candidate Steve Mbogo was second with 34,959 votes.
