Police Arrest 3 Presiding Officers in Trans Nzoia County

Police have arrested three IEBC Presiding Officers in Trans Nzoia County on allegations of committing various poll malpractices.

The three include Wellington Papako, Michael Wekesa and Benson Senda.

More details are yet to be revealed on the specific offences the three committed.

The arrest comes barely two days after 4 other IEBC officials were arrested in Murang'a, Changamwe and Malindi for electoral misconduct.

In Muranga, two IEBC clerks were arrested for allegedly being involved in a scheme to change the names of polling clerks in Kandara constituency polling station.

The two clerks were nabbed trying to change names of polling clerks so that their preferred clerks conduct elections.

In  Changamwe Constituency, Mombasa County, Kennedy Mulwa was apprehended by police after he was caught handing double senator and MP seat ballot papers to select voters on the queue.

In a related incident, another clerk was arrested in Malindi after he was caught issuing double ballot papers.
