Beth Mugo and Other Nominated Senators from Jubilee, ODM, Wiper and ANC

President Uhuru Kenyatta's cousin, Beth Mugo is among the eight women nominated for Senate seats by the Jubilee Party.

Ms Mugo will be retaining her seat in the Senate where she was nominated after losing her Dagoreti MP seat in 2013.

Others guaranteed of slots in the Jubilee list of nominees include former Nairobi Woman Representative aspirant Millicent OmangaAlice MilgoChristine Zawadi, Mary Yiane Seneta, Falhada Dekow Iman, Naomi Jillo Waqo and Farhiya Ali Haji.

Jubilee is also likely to nominate Isaac Mwaura and Joyce Amasong as representatives of the disabled as well as Prengei Victor and Wambui Nyutu for the youth.

The Senate has a total of 16 slots designated to nominated women and four slots for the youth and the disabled.

Raila Odinga's ODM Party will have seven nomination slots in the Senate, as it managed to have 13 elected Senators.

Most likely nominees include the party's Secretary General Agnes Zani, National Elections Board Chair Judith Pareno, Beatrice Makori, Naomi Shiyonga, Rose Nyamunga and Beth Syengo.

Ms Sylvia Mueni Kasanga of the Wiper party could also be nominated from the Opposition side.

In total, while Jubilee is likely to have 12 Senate nomination slots, ODM will have six nominees while Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper, KANU and Musalia Mudavadi’s Amani National Congress (ANC) will have one slot each.

The President's party managed to acquire the majority of seats in the bicameral house, 23 being in the Senate and is therefore entitled to the highest number of nominees.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is scheduled to publish the final list of both the elected and nominated lawmakers in the Kenya Gazette before Parliament resumes on Tuesday.
