Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago Promises to Hire Opposition Politicians

Uasin Gishu Governor-elect Jackson Mandago has promised to hire two National Super Alliance (NASA) candidates who lost in MCA elections last week.

Speaking on Wednesday in Eldoret, Mandago asked Andrew Sure and Charles Okumu who lost the Huruma and Langas Ward races not to be worried as he would incorporate them into his government.

“I have told them that even though Baba (Raila Odinga) lost in the polls, they should not be worried because Baba Mdogo (Mandago) won and they will be part of my team," Mandago stated.

The Governor further noted that his new administration would accommodate all communities.

Mandago promised to enhance equity in the operations of his government since both the Jubilee Party and the National Super Alliance backed his re-election.

Regarding claims that the elections had been rigged to deny Opposition Leader Raila Odinga victory, the governor-elect dismissed the allegations and defended IEBC stating that the election was credible.

He also explained that he benefitted from NASA's endorsement but noted that the Opposition had been defeated in the elections.

During the campaigns, Mandago publicly campaigned for the two Opposition candidates who were competing against Jubilee candidates.
