Ugenya Youth Vow to Block IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati and CEO Ezra Chiloba From Chris Msando's Burial

A Section of youth from Ugenya caused a scene on Saturday during the burial of former IEBC ICT Manager Chris Msando's after mounting roadblocks on all major roads leading to the venue of the funeral service.

The group said the blockade was to ensure IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati and CEO Ezra Chiloba did not attend the burial service held at Lifunga Primary School.

They accused the electoral commission of betraying Msando and National Super Alliance (NASA) flag bearer Raila Odinga leading to their death and election loss respectively.

They vowed to chase the top IEBC officials away in case they bumped into them anywhere in the funeral or within Ugenya constituency.

"We are going to search all vehicles heading to the funeral. If we meet the two, we will force them to go back to Nairobi," one youth stated.

"They undermined and went against the free and fair commitment they swore to defend when assuming office," another added.

The angry youth claimed that IEBC commissioners erred by declaring President Uhuru Kenyatta the winner without confirming all forms 34A and 34B.

Earlier on, they had held a peaceful demonstration demanding that the former IEBC Manager's family be served justice.

Chebukati and Chiloba did not attend the burial but were represented by Directors Rasi Masudi, who is in charge of voter education and partnership, and Decima M’manyi, who is in charge of research and development.

NASA leader Odinga attended the burial accompanied by co-principal Musalia Mudavadi, Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang'ula, Siaya Senator James Orengo, Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga and Kisumu Governor-elect Angang' Nyong'o.
