Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore has announced that all M-Pesa operations will be unavailable for several hours on Sunday, August 27.
In a notice dated August 25, the network operator stated that the services would be interrupted for four hours to allow for upgrading of its systems.
"All M-PESA services will be unavailable for four hours starting the morning of Sunday 27th August from 12 30 AM to 4.30 AM," the statement read in part.
The Safaricom CEO affirmed to the customers that the upgrade was scheduled with due consideration of the customers' comfort.
Safaricom customers were, therefore, urged to be calm and expect the M-Pesa services to be restored and be fully functional following the process.
