The Only Jubilee Senator Who Was Present During Supreme Court Verdict

As other Jubilee politicians chose to boycott the Supreme court verdict on the presidential petition filed by National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga, only one Jubilee Senator was present.

Murang'a Senator Irungu Kang'ata was the only Jubilee politician who attended the session with the courtroom being dominated by lawyers and NASA leaders.

Despite the verdict favouring the Opposition supporters who had camped outside the court, the Senator did not cowardly walk out after the ruling.

He was noticed boldly walking out of the room and could be seen pushing himself through NASA supporters as they celebrated the verdict that nullified President Uhuru Kenyatta's win.

Mr Kang'ata showed a lot of resilience by marching past the vibrant crowd in his unique form of demonstration as he condemned the court verdict read by Chief Justice David Maraga.

"I am not happy with the court’s verdict.

"The judges admitted that they had not read all the documents presented before it among them the affidavits, submissions, and exhibits…on what basis did they come up with the verdict," Mr Kang'ata stated.

The six judge bench ruled that IEBC failed to conduct the elections by the Constitution due to massive irregularities.

It, therefore, nullified President Kenyatta's re election and ordered for fresh polls within 60 days.

The angered Senator also opposed the move by NASA principals agitating for the replacement of the electoral commissioners.
