Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko's Club Casuarina has been burnt down and one person confirmed dead after the inferno.
The fire which reportedly occurred at midnight completely destroyed Sonko's restaurant located in Buruburu, Nairobi.
The cause of the fire is yet to be established.
However, speculations abound that the attack was carried out by the former Senator's rivals who have been frustrated by his new measures to fight cartels at City Hall.
Governor Sonko confirmed the incident in a Facebook post and mourned the deceased worker.
"I serve a very faithful God. My God never lets me down. RIP Kilunda," Sonko stated.
Nothing was salvaged from the premises despite the quick response by the county's firefighters.
The worker's body has since been moved to the mortuary as investigations continue.
