Why NASA is Looking for Volunteers Ahead of the Presidential Elections

The National Super Alliance (NASA) coalition is now appealing for more volunteers ahead of the presidential election scheduled for 17th October.

The volunteers are required to steer the adopt-a-polling-station strategy which they claim will ensure that the election process in the various stations is clear and transparent.

Addressing the press yesterday at Wiper Party Headquarters following the cancellation of a planned parliamentary meeting, ODM chairman John Mbadi stated that most of the agents sabotaged the strategy during the previous General Election.

The volunteers will be deployed at the various polling stations countrywide during the election.

Mr Mbadi also appealed for financial support from well-wishers ahead of Mr Odinga's presidential campaign.

He went ahead to provide a pay bill number which will be used during the funding process.

NASA leaders will be required to contribute some money to help fund the national presidential campaigns.

Newly-elected NASA leaders will be expected to provide at least Sh200,000 while the leaders who have served for more than a term will pay more than Sh500,000.

The ODM chairman further noted that the coalition demands for consultation with IEBC regarding the forthcoming presidential elections.

Among the issues NASA wants the IEBC to address is the change of the gazetted October 17th date for the elections.

"This time there is no second guessing, the IEBC must put its act together this time and get this election right," he stated.

Mr Mbadi further indicated that the coalition's main aim is to tighten all the loose ends before Mr Odinga and his team begin the presidential campaigns.
