Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has accused NARC-Kenya party leader Martha Karua of secretly working with the National Super Alliance (NASA) to derail the Jubilee Party agenda.
Speaking during a tour of the Mwea rice irrigation scheme, the former devolution Cabinet Secretary announced Ms Karua had been working with the Opposition despite her earlier announcement that she was supporting Jubilee.
''On the campaign trail, I used to tell you Karua was working with NASA. Some of you ignored me, but now she has shown her true colours," she stated.
Ms Waiguru justified her statement by pointing out that Ms Karua's petition is a duplicate of what NASA leader Raila Odinga filed at the Supreme Court to challenge Uhuru Kenyatta's victory in the August 8 presidential election.
The Kirinyaga Governor further indicated that Ms Karua's celebration of the September 1st Supreme Court verdict proved that the NARC-Kenya leader was one of the NASA agents pretending to support President Kenyatta.
During the campaign trail, Karua had withdrawn her support for the opposition noting that she was fully behind Uhuru Kenyatta's re election.
"Narc-Kenya has just been friends with the opposition for the sole purpose of fighting the high levels of corruption and nothing beyond that, and those linking myself or our party with the so called Supper Alliance are just engaging in witch-hunting,'' she said.
After the Supreme Court ruling, Ms Karua applauded the six-judge bench for the Supreme Court decision which ruled in Odinga's favour.
In a similar outcry, 33 Kirinyaga MCAs accused Karua of operating as a NASA mole after she filed the petition to challenge Ms Waiguru's election.
The former Justice Minister filed her case at the Kerugoya High Court on Tuesday challenging Governor Anne Waiguru's election.
She refused to concede defeat to the Jubilee gubernatorial aspirant claiming that counting and tallying of the results was not properly conducted by the IEBC.
