The County Where All Jubilee Candidates Have Filed Election Petitions

All Kilifi Jubilee Party aspirants who lost to NASA politicians in the August Election have filed petitions challenging the election results announced by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

The Jubilee politicians, who contested the results in various seats including the gubernatorial, senatorial and parliamentary docket, filed their cases at the Malindi Courts in Kilifi County.

Gubernatorial aspirant Gideon Mung'aro, who lost to Amason Kingi of ODM, filed an election petition challenging Mr Kingi's election.

Senator aspirant Kennedy James Nyale, who lost to Stewart Madzayo of ODM, also filed his case at the high court.

Former Kilifi South MP Mustaffa Idd also contested the declaration of Richard Ken Chonga Kiti of ODM as the Parliamentary winner of the election.

Mr Idd and former Deputy Governor Kennedy Kamto led the legal team in filing the election petitions for the Jubilee candidates.

Former Labour CS Kazungu Kambi, who came third in the gubernatorial race, also challenged Mr Kingi's governorship.

The politician, who contested on a KADU-Asili ticket, however, noted that he won the election followed by Jubilee's candidate Mr Mung'aro.

The last-minute rush by the politicians was meant to complete the petitions before the deadline which was due on Thursday.

Jubilee supporters in Malindi were present at the court during the wee hours as the politicians filed their petitions.

Malindi Court officials led by Malindi Deputy Registrar Janette Nyamu stayed up until midnight as they waited for the Jubilee politicians to file the petitions.
