Hassan Omar Exposes How Raila and Kalonzo Made Him Leave NASA

Former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar has made new revelations on why he ditched the National Super Alliance (NASA) ahead of the repeat presidential elections set for 17th October.

Omar indicated that he felt so unwanted by the NASA principals including Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka throughout the campaign and election period, and he finally decided to leave the coalition.

"Why would I be there to be duped twice?" he posed. "I do not want to hang around with someone who does not want me."

"I spent too much time trying to please ethnic chiefs, but now I dare to stand alone," Omar stated.

The former NASA politician, who resigned from his post as Wiper Democratic Movement Secretary General last week, also accused the two NASA principals of executing a scheme to sabotage his governorship bid.

He claimed that Raila and Kalonzo rigged the August 8 Mombasa Gubernatorial elections in favour of Governor Hassan Joho.

"I will not give him my vote because he (Raila) never supported me (in the governorship race) and neither did Kalonzo," Omar said, adding that he intended to challenge Joho's victory in court, and outside NASA.

He further noted that Wiper officials should not accuse him of failing to deliver seats for Wiper in Mombasa because the party had performed equally poorly in its Ukambani strongholds.

"My party leader (Kalonzo) has Jubilee leaders right in his bedroom so how can I be accused of not delivering when I am the only candidate who funded other candidates?" Omar asked.

Other vocal politicians who have ditched the NASA alliance in the last few days include Chama Cha Mashinani Leader and former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto, who jumped ship last Friday.

He was followed by former Meru Governor Peter Munya who shifted allegiance to the Jubilee Party on Tuesday after joining NASA a week ago.
