A report released by research firm Infotrak has revealed that Kenyans are fully behind Chief Justice David Maraga following the Supreme Court's decision to nullify President Uhuru Kenyatta's victory in the August 8 election.
According to the findings, 76.7% of Kenyans support October 17 as the date for the fresh presidential election date and are satisfied with the Supreme Court's ruling.
The nullification of the Presidential results caused ripples across the country, with President Kenyatta claiming he was robbed of victory by the judges.
He even threatened to take action against Maraga once he is re-elected, adding that "the fate of the country cannot be determined by 4 people."
On Thursday, Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu filed a petition seeking the ouster of Mr Maraga on grounds of gross misconduct.
The Jubilee Party, however, distanced itself from the petition with Secretary General Raphael Tuju stating that the petition was filed by an individual and not the party.
The report by Infotrak further revealed that 43.8% of Kenyans want IEBC bosses to quit before fresh polls.
The election body has come under harsh criticism ever since the nullification of Presidential elections and its top bosses have been asked to quit.
Chairman Wafula Chebukati and CEO Ezra Chiloba have been accused of failing to conduct credible elections and members of the opposition have demanded investigations into Chiloba's deeds during the election.
National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders also threatened that there would be no election if the top IEBC bosses are not replaced.
