Hospital Building Collapses in Kapsabet

Rescue operations at the hospital building that collapsed in Kapsabet, Nandi County have been called off after National Disaster Management Unit Deputy Director Pius Masai stated 40 workers were rescued and no lives were lost.

The three-storey building was still under construction and residents rushed to the scene just a few minutes after it caved in.

The structure, located Kapsabet-Kisumu highway and said to be a hospital, came tumbling down during construction works at around 1pm on Thursday.

Five people remain hospitalised in Eldoret and Kapsabet.
