The Harambee Stars continued their fairytale run in the Africa Nations Championships with a 1-0 win over Chipolopolo, effectively securing their place as group winners and setting up a quarter-final tie against Madagascar.
Away from the match, another interesting sight was President Ruto's footwear, which drew some attention, particularly among people considered 'sneakerheads'.
A quick spot check by Kenyans.co.ke established that the Head of State was rocking a pair of Ferragamo Gancini Round-Toe Lace-Up Sneakers - a high-end luxury pair of sneakers which combined luxury and sports.
The black sneakers feature smooth suede detailing and the popular Gancini emblem on their side, which was so conspicuous that it gave away the shoe's luxury status.
Further, the sneakers also boasted a breathable mesh upper and thick rubber soles, which designers say add to style and comfort.
