Opposition Leader Raila Odinga Explains How Jubilee Fell into NASA's Trap

Opposition Leader Raila Odinga on Saturday declared that Jubilee fell into the National Super Alliance (NASA) trap by believing that their parallel vote tallying center had failed.

Speaking in Bondo town, Siaya County,  Mr Odinga noted that Jubilee underrated the Opposition's plan to create a good surveillance mechanism to monitor the election.

“They actually did not know we had a working tallying center from where we monitored everything.

“All along, Jubilee knew we were ill-prepared for the polls. Our tracking system showed some of the results used to declare Uhuru Kenyatta the President were actually being transmitted from inside certain supermarkets," Odinga stated.

The former Prime Minister also revealed that they conned Jubilee into believing that they would not contest the presidential results at the Supreme Court.

“All along, we made them believe we would opt for mass action instead of going to court, before pulling a surprise on them,” he explained.

Mr Odinga reiterated the Opposition's plan to kick out IEBC commissioners explaining that he would launch a “No reforms No Election” campaign soon.

"We are not backing down. Our demands must be met. We are sending a clear message to IEBC and Jubilee that we are not going to boycott the repeat elections. It will not just happen without reforms. This is not negotiable," he stated.

The ODM Leader was accompanied by Senator James Orengo who hit out at Attorney General Githu Muigai over his recent remarks that President Kenyatta had full constitutional powers and that no constitutional crisis was forthcoming.

“Githu he is using a Chinese law book instead of Kenyan law book. After 60 days,  Uhuru will not be in office as president of Kenya. Githu has read the law upside down,” Orengo stated.
