Top Leader Reveals Plot to Have Uhuru Rule 'Forever'

National Super Alliance (NASA) Presidential advisor Salim Lone has claimed that President Uhuru Kenyatta is planning to remain in power forever.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Mr Lone noted that Jubilee Party is passing laws to favour Kenyatta's presidency for life.

The NASA strategist also cited the President's relentless attacks and threats to Chief Justice David Maraga as other signs that prove he will cling to power.

"Jubilee plans to prevent Supreme Court from annulling elections are designed to rally his base and assure them power will always stay with them. Not just till 2022, but forever," Lone stated.

He further pointed out that the great crisis Kenya faces is no longer about who is the rightful president.

Jubilee is expected to marshal its MPs to push for amendments to sections of the Election Laws over the annulment of the presidential poll.

Yesterday, President Kenyatta chaired a Jubilee Parliamentary Group meeting where a decision to amend section 83 of the Elections Act to include the manual process of vote counting and transmission was reached.

The Jubilee Party, which enjoys the Majority in the Senate and National Assembly, wants to have the manual declaration as the legal basis for a final declaration of the vote, with the electronic method only serving as a backup.

The Jubilee lawmakers also discussed the need to include a clause in the law that will make it mandatory for the Supreme Court to order a ballot recount in the event of a presidential election petition.
