Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i has sent a series of daring messages to leaders who 'try to subvert the law'.
Through a series of tweets on his social media page, Matiang'i stated that he would not relent to deal with leaders who are using their positions of power to cause havoc.
"The law will be applied without fear or favour with equal measure to all; including politicians who use their position to break the law," he stated.
He further warned that no one was above the law, in what was seen as a warning message to those who want to test his mettle.
"To those using their positions of power and influence to try and subvert the law, I have only one message for you: No one is above the law!
"The government’s resolve on security is unwavering. Anyone willing to challenge it can do so, but will be met with the full force of the law," he reiterated.
On Wednesday evening, the CS stated that the move to recall police officers assigned to NASA leaders Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka would not be reversed.
"Scaling down of security detail of Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka is justified and will not be reversed," Matiang'i stated.
The CS further noted that he had ordered the arrest of two Members of Parliament (MPs) over incitement. He, however, did not reveal names of the said legislators.
He noted that Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet had 48 hours to apprehend them.
On Tuesday, police officers assigned to Odinga and Kalonzo were recalled and told to hand over their police radios so that they could not monitor police communication.
