Former ODM Vice-Chair Reveals Why He Regrets Supporting NASA Leader Raila Odinga

Former Funyula MP Paul Otuoma has expressed his regret for supporting National Super Alliance(NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga for years.

Speaking in Busia town on Friday, the former Gubernatorial candidate claimed that Raila had no agenda for Western Kenya or Kenya itself.

He regretted that he remained in the Opposition yet those who broke away from Odinga's camp like Deputy President William Ruto had risen politically.

“My brother William Ruto left us in ODM still singing about baba and now he is the Deputy President. We have said enough is enough and this is why we want to support Jubilee, the winning team,” he stated.

Otuoma, who served as ODM Vice-chairperson before resigning in 2016 noted that he had supported Odinga since 1992 but felt it was time to move on.

“We want to form the next Government with the people of Busia being part of President Kenyatta’s transformative agenda," he affirmed.

He was speaking on the campaign trail in Busia at an event that was also graced by President Uhuru Kenyatta, DP Ruto, Chris Okemo, Fred Gumo and Cabinet Secretary for Water and Irrigation, Eugene Wamalwa.

Otuoma is among leaders from Western Kenya who have ditched the opposition coalition for Jubilee after the August polls.

A delegation of leaders from the region was recently at Statehouse led by former Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba, ex-Vihiga Governor Moses Akaranga and former presidential candidate Cyrus Jirongo.

The former Vice-Chairman ran as an independent candidate in the Busia Gubernatorial race after he lost in the party primaries to incumbent Sospeter Ojaamong.

Jubilee and NASA have been working hard to woo the Western vote with both scheduling a series of rallies in the region.
