Opposition Leader Raila Odinga's team spearheading the National Super Alliance (NASA) protest was on Monday stoned and chased away by Jubilee supporters in Embu County.
Jubilee supporters led by Members of County Assembly from the area reportedly attacked a NASA anti-IEBC protest which was being led by Embu Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) chairman Moses Wamuru.
Following the attack, the NASA team fled on motorbikes as Jubilee supporters pelted them with stones.
A car ferrying Mr Wamuru was also stoned and posters of Mr Odinga torn and burnt on the Embu-Meru highway.
The Opposition team was attacked on their way to IEBC offices where they wanted to present a memorandum detailing their demands, including the removal of CEO Ezra Chiloba and other senior officers.
Speaking after the confrontation, the County ODM Chairman stated that it was their constitutional right to picket adding that they will stage another protest on Friday.
''The action by the Jubilee supporters is a violation of freedom to picket, which is provided for in the Constitution. Embu leaders should cultivate political tolerance,'' he stated.
Embu County is one of President Kenyatta's strongholds as they massively supported him in the August 2017 presidential polls.
Meanwhile, the Opposition on Monday launched anti-IEBC demonstrations countrywide to kick out some officials from the electoral body.
Some of the areas where the protests were held include Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Kakamega, Kisii, Nyamira, Narok, Migori, Kitui and Machakos.
