Mombasa Wiper Leaders Now Told to Join Jubilee

A section of Wiper leaders who have been vowing to ditch the Opposition has been ordered to do so instead of issuing threats.

Speaking on Monday, Mombasa Senate candidate Jabez Oduor came out to defend his boss Kalonzo Musyoka admitting that the leaders had no impact and numbers to threaten the party.

He affirmed that Wiper is still strong in the Coast region and he and other members were busy campaigning for NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga to ensure a solid win in the October 26 polls.

“Kisauni MP Ali Mbogo, three parliamentary candidates in Mombasa and 19 Wiper MCAs are still in Wiper and active in campaigns,” he stated.

Oduor's remarks come following an announcement by the leaders who have been demanding that their party leader withdraws support for Mr Odinga and support President Uhuru Kenyatta.

On Monday, Former Mombasa County Senator and Wiper Party Secretary-General Hassan Omar admitted that he might campaign for President Kenyatta in the coastal region.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Kenyans.co.ke, the former Senator divulged that if the President asks him to join his team, he will gladly do so.

"If the President asks me to campaign for him directly then I would, he is a good political ally," he stated.
