The IEBC is at the moment holding a private meeting with National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka in the absence of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto as earlier indicated.
According to IEBC Commissioner Roselyn Akombe, the consultative meeting was never meant to be joint and as such, President Kenyatta is expected to attend a separate forum in the afternoon.
The media has been kicked out of the meeting with reports indicating that other NASA principals Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetangula, lawyers James Orengo, Paul Mwangi and Norman Magaya are waiting at the VIP lounge.
The forum is expected to discuss key demands raised by the Opposition ahead of the October 26 presidential election.
earlier reports from the Commission had indicated that the meeting would bring together the two Presidential candidates.
Speaking on Thursday last week, IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati noted that the aspirants should attend future meetings in person.
"Next time we want the principals to come in person. We don't want generals to cause sideshows here ahead of the election...we must meet sooner rather than later," he stated.
