4 police officers deployed to an event presided over by President Uhuru Kenyatta in Nairobi have been rushed to hospital after developing cholera-like symptoms.
President Kenyatta officially opened the Nairobi International Trade Fair at Jamhuri grounds on Wednesday but prior to his arrival, the officers complained of stomach pains and had to seek medical attention.
Food handlers have been advised to observe high levels of hygiene.

The Nairobi International Trade Fair kicked off on Monday and has already attracted large crowds.
The seven-day event which has registered over 300 local and 120 international exhibitors runs until Sunday and will offer an opportunity for services and products to be displayed.
It will also offer visitors an opportunity to meet people from different countries and backgrounds, hence creating a platform for interaction and exchanging of ideas and experiences.
It is the largest Trade Fair in the East African Region.
In September, a total of 59 police officers were admitted to various hospitals with cholera-like symptoms.

Forty-five out of 430 officers deployed to Nairobi during the Supreme Court ruling were infected and were residing at the Multimedia University Hotel in Rongai.
Last week, several students at Daystar University Athi River Campus were also treated for cholera after exhibiting similar symptoms but were later discharged after being stabilised.
