Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama has announced the formation of a team drawn from National Super Alliance (NASA) affiliate parties to campaign for Raila Odinga hours after President Uhuru Kenyatta held a rally in the county.
The Governor declared that Nyamira was still a NASA zone despite the frequent visits made by the Jubilee leadership.
The announcement of the team's creation came after a day-long meeting was held involving all aspirants who contested for various seats in the August election on NASA affiliate party tickets.
"We are ready to mobilize votes for Raila, vote for him and protect his votes," the Governor stated after the meeting.
He went on to add: "Our clarion call remains that this nation deserves a change in the presidency. We have just held a strategy meeting with elected and nominated NASA MCAs and aspirants right from MCA to governor who participated in the August 8 general election."

Those represented at the meeting are members of the Orange Democratic Movement, Amani National Congress, Wiper and FORD-Kenya.
In his visit to Chief Justice David Maraga's home county, President Kenyatta welcomed three losers in the Nyamira Gubernatorial race James Gesami (Independent), Mwancha Okioma (People's Development Party) and Erneo Nyakiba (Party of Reforms and Development) to Jubilee.
Governor Nyagarama also added his voice to the debate on NASA's weekly protests aimed at forcing changes at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
He stated: "I join other Kenyans in demanding a free and fair playground. Millions of Kenyans are in agreement that if there are no reforms, there will be no elections."

The President had promised Nyamira residents of an inclusive government and highlighted his appointment of Acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i to the powerful docket as evidence of the same.
