NASA Forced To Cancel Campaign Tour

The National Super Alliance has canceled a series of rallies at the Coast that were scheduled for this weekend after local leaders raised issues about not being involved in preparations for the same.

On Saturday, NASA Presidential Candidate Raila Odinga and his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka were scheduled to address roadside rallies at Akamba Handicraft, Bangladesh and Tudor before heading to Frere Town for a big rally.

The leaders were on Sunday supposed to address NASA supporters in Likoni and Kombani before ending the tour with a major rally in Ukunda.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke,  ex-Matuga MP Hassan Mwanyoha explained the cancellation, stating:  "The campaign tour was sudden. It's just because of planning issues."

He however assured NASA supporters that other plans were in place to run a major campaign tour in the area very soon.

The decision to cancel the campaign tour was arrived at after a late night meeting on Friday.

NASA leaders were expected to consolidate their numbers in the region that is largely a NASA stronghold.Their push for reforms at the IEBC, specifically the resignation of CEO Ezra Chiloba was expected to dominate the agenda.

NASA has declared that there will be no election on October 26th if their 'Irreducible Minimums' demands are not met.

Demonstrations have been ongoing nationwide, including in Mombasa, to call for the resignation of Chiloba.
