Raila Reveals How Uhuru is Destroying the Country Ahead of Election

National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga has refuted the claims by the Jubilee party that the anti-IEBC demonstrations which have kicked off at the various parts of the country have sabotaged the country economically.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Mr Odinga indicated that the economic situation in the country has been caused by Jubilee Party following their initial plan to rig the elections.

"Kenya is where it is because the President and his Jubilee party tried to steal the elections and were caught and stopped, thus putting the country on a path we have never traveled since independence in 1963," he stated.

The former Prime minister further accused the state of the frequent crackdown on the civil society and judiciary indicating that these actions create uncertainties in the country which subsequently de molarize economic activities.

The ODM leader further pointed out that corruption is "part and parcel of Jubilee administration" indicating that it has hugely affected the country's GDP.

Mr Odinga also blamed the poor economy in the country on "the continued stranglehold on the IEBC, the use of State institutions like EACC and the NGO Council to crack down on perceived opponents and the creation of a police state."

NASA also exempted itself from the poor economy in the state arguing that the economy was at its zero by the end of  KANU regime which was characterized by similar practices used by current Uhuru's party.

"The result will not be any different today. Stolen elections and strongman tactics never lead to economic growth. They only lead to stagnation and collapse, and Uhuru must take the blame," Odinga stated.

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Sunday accused Raila Odinga of sabotaging the economy of the country by calling for anti-Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) demonstrations.

The head of state said that the NASA leader is hiding behind electoral reforms to call for protests aimed at sabotaging the economy.
