Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria Demands For Arrest of Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has demanded the arrest of Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala.

Speaking during a rally in Kisii, Kuria accused Malala of inciting violence against anyone who would take ballot papers for the repeat presidential election in Kakamega County.

Kuria asked the Director of Public Prosecution Keriako Tobiko to conduct an investigation into the matter.

The MP argued that it was a criminal offense to obstruct election material from being distributed since every Kenyan has the right to vote.

“The Senator of Kakamega threatened violence on anyone who dares to take ballot papers and election material to Kakamega County,” Mr Kuria stated.

“I want to call upon the CID, the DPP to investigate this man,” he added.

Last month Kuria was arrested after he went off on a live Facebook stream hurling insults at Odinga and his (Raila) family, saying that he had become a headache for the Jubilee administration.

He also allegedly said that outsiders residing in Kiambu County would be flushed out and unspecified consequences meted on them.

Kuria was however released on a cash bail of 300,000 shillings after he pleaded not guilty to incitement to violence charges.

Nairobi chief magistrate Francis Andayi further directed the Lawmaker to sign a Sh1 Million surety as a commitment that he would maintain the law and not commit similar offences.
