Ekuru Aukot Embarrasses Raila Ahead of Presidential Election

Thirdway Alliance presidential candidate Ekuru Aukot has taken on Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party leader Raila Odinga after he was described as a traitor at a National Super Alliance (NASA) rally in Mombasa on Sunday.

Aukot decribed Odinga's politics as outdated adding that the NASA presidential candidate does not communicate anything meaningful in his rallies.

Aukot, who was allowed by the High Court to participate in the upcoming poll, maintained that Odinga could not stop an election from taking place on October 26.

"Raila represents the past, the kind of politics we want to rout out. This country is for all of us in equal measure. I would never want to respond to people who communicate nothing in huge crowds. I don’t care what he thinks (Raila Odinga), he won’t stop me,” Aukot declared.

He was responding to comments made by Mr Odinga on Sunday during a rally at Mama Ngina Drive, Mombasa.

Odinga alluded to the fact that Aukot had shelved his demands for electoral reforms and accepted to take part in the October 26th poll.

He even suggested that Aukot's wife should divorce him for abandoning his earlier stand regarding the election.

Aukot successfully petitioned the High Court to compel the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to include his name on the presidential election ballot paper.

He was initially against the inclusion of the rest of the candidates who took part in the nullified poll in the repeat election but eventually had a change of heart.

He has, however, maintained that he believes the electoral body should be looked into ahead of the fresh poll.
