5 Things Raila Has Announced After Meeting Chebukati

National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga on Thursday met the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairman Wafula Chebukati and highlighted a number of issues that they discussed.

First, Odinga stated that the meeting was fruitful and NASA leaders had listened to Chebukati's demands, at the same time, giving their views.

"We had a good meeting with Chebukati. We have listened and we have given our views," revealed Odinga at Anniversary Towers.

He also announced that Chebukati would meet President Uhuru Kenyatta on Monday noting that his talks with the IEBC boss were different from the one where he was supposed to come face to face with the Head of State.

The opposition leader also stated that Jubilee Party was frustrating efforts to hold constructive talks regarding the election adding that he would not beg to meet the President.

He further reiterated that he was not interested in negotiating for a coalition government as has been claimed by Jubilee leaders.

"They (Jubilee) want to portray me as desperate. I am not begging to meet Kenyatta.

"How many times should I repeat that I do not want a nusu-mkate (power sharing) deal. I am not interested in a poisoned bread," remarked Odinga.

Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi, who had accompanied the former Prime Minister to the talks, added that Kenyans need to seriously meditate upon the words uttered by former IEBC Commissioner Roselyn Akombe after her resignation.

"I plead with members of the 4th estate to analyse statements issued by Chebukati and Akombe. They are sending a serious message to the country.

"The environment is not right for an election. Akombe knows who messed up the election and it is not NASA. Some things were out of their control," reiterated Mudavadi.
