Jubilee Unveils New Plan for October 26

Jubilee has unveiled a plan that it shall use to ensure that its supporters are not disrupted when voting in Bungoma County, which is a NASA stronghold.

Addressing journalists before President Uhuru Kenyatta's visit to the county, Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka explained that Jubilee supporters who intend to vote would be ferried to polling stations on election day.

"We have MPs in the county to ensure that in every area, people who want to vote are transported to vote," the former Bungoma Governor stated.

He added that they would collaborate with security personnel to ensure that trouble makers are kept away from the polling stations.

Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa reiterated Lusaka's sentiment adding that he had young men who would provide security in his constituency.

"We have our own security in you men who will man polling stations. They will wake up those who want to vote, escort them to the polling stations in groups of 10 to 20 people," Mr Barasa explained.

On Thursday while addressing a campaign rally at Sirisia, President Kenyatta insisted that nobody will be allowed to prevent Kenyans from exercising their democratic right.

“The same way you will be exercising your democratic right in boycotting the election, there are millions of Kenyans – who do not make noise like you but are waiting for October 26 to vote and you cannot deny them their right,” he told the opposition.

President Kenyatta further assured Kenyans of adequate security to exercise their democratic and constitutional right to vote in the October 26 fresh election.

The President emphasized that nobody will be allowed to muzzle Kenyans’ voice by disenfranchising them so as to get power through the back door.

On his part, Deputy President William Ruto stated that Raila Odinga’s call for demonstrations and violence was a sign of impunity and dictatorship which is unacceptable to Kenyans and would not be tolerated.

“It cannot be that a person goes to court to push for fresh election and then instead of preparing to participate he goes ahead to call for demonstrations and instigates violence,” the Deputy President conveyed.
