NASA to Make Major Announcement at Uhuru Park Today

The National Super Alliance (NASA) has announced that it will hold a mega rally on Wednesday at Uhuru Park to give a final position regarding the Presidential election.

NASA confirmed this through its social media pages on Tuesday evening and stated that the rally would start at 2 pm.

Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohamed also echoed the same sentiments during an interview on Citizen TV where he asked the coalition's supporters to await the next instruction that would be issued by opposition leader Raila Odinga.

"The events of Thursday, October 26 will be made known by Raila Odinga tomorrow at 2 pm," stated Mr Mohammed.

It is not yet clear what the announcement will be because in recent weeks Odinga has urged his supporters to boycott the election.

Odinga on Tuesday asked his supporters not to take to the streets on Thursday during the repeat presidential election and urged them to stay away from polling stations.

"We have not told people to demonstrate on the polling day. We have not said that at all,” Mr Odinga remarked on Tuesday in an interview with the BBC.

Last Thursday, Mr Odinga and his National Super Alliance (NASA) brigade had told their supporters to prepare for demonstrations in the week preceding the fresh poll.

He added that he had a different view from that of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s camp that has demanded that the poll must be held within the 60 days ordered by the Supreme Court.

“There are two forces here: Those who want to go on with the sham election, irrespective of the consequences, and those who say no, it is not right to do it,” reiterated the former Prime Minister.
