MP Jaguar Takes Chebukati to Court

Starehe MP Charles Njagua Kanyi has moved to court seeking to have IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati declare results of the repeat Presidential election without numbers from four counties where the election has been postponed to October 28th.

The legislator stated that the results from Siaya, Homa Bay, Kisumu and Migori would have no impact on the final tally.

He also noted that he was seeking to protect business people in the area who may experience losses should protests erupt.

In an exclusive conversation with Kenyans.co.ke moments after filing the case, Jaguar stated: "We want the IEBC to work within the law and announce the results within seven days from October 26th, not 28th."

He, however, dismissed other leaders who he accused of inciting youth to engage in violent protests.

The Starehe legislator's case will be heard on Friday afternoon.

The lawmaker cum artist also noted that President Uhuru Kenyatta was open to dialogue with Mr Odinga following the conclusion of the repeat election.

IEBC Chairperson Wafula Chebukati announced the postponement of the polls in the four counties citing security concerns.
