4 Things NASA Has Announced After Presidential Election

National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders on Friday held a press conference where they called upon the IEBC to call off the repeat election scheduled for Saturday in Migori, Homa Bay, Siaya and Kisumu Counties.

Addressing the media from Lavington, the leaders led by NASA co-principal Musalia Mudavadi asked the electoral commission not to force the election on the people of the four counties since they had indicated that they were not willing to participate in the exercise.

"We are calling on the IEBC to call off the forced poll; the motive is clearly wicked. The people in these regions have indicated they don’t want to vote, so why force them?," Mudavadi posed.

The Amani National Congress (ANC) leader dismissed Thursday's election terming it as a 'farce' adding that the voter turnout raised questions regarding where the 8 million votes the President got in the August poll came from.

"The citizens have opened up the server. Where are 8 Million votes Uhuru got? The numbers Uhuru was talking about are fraudulent. Raila won in August 8th and won again now," he stated.

Mr Mudavadi also expressed concern with what he termed as "the ethnic profiling" of their supporters by the police and the State.

According to the NASA leader, the government had been rejected and was descending on their supporters in Nyanza region.

"We are concerned about State profiling of our country that could lead to loss of innocent lives. We are deeply concerned now that Jubilee has militarized elections and police together with the militia, in police clothing, have brutalised the people in the 4 counties," he stated.

The ANC leader made a special request to Opposition supporters in the four counties where the election was postponed urging them to desist from violence and boycott the poll.

Earlier on, Opposition Chief Raila Odinga while speaking to Citizen TV, urged his supporters in the counties not to engage in protests and keep away from polling stations.

“This is tribal profiling against Luos because voting did not take place in many areas like Kuria and even in Nairobi," Odinga stated.
