Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula on Saturday demanded acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i to explain why some of the anti-riot police officers deployed to the county had dreadlocks.
While addressing mourners on Saturday at Madisi village in Kabuchai constituency during the burial of Mzee Francis Wafula, the uncle of Bungoma woman representative Catherine Wambilianga, the National Super Alliance (NASA) Leader accused the police of using live bullets on innocent residents.
"We are calling upon acting Interior CS Fred Matiang'i and Bungoma county commissioner Joshua Chepchieng to tell residents where the deadlocked cops with funny hairstyles, who dispersed protesters on Friday, came from.
"Members of the outlawed Mungiki sect may have been taken to the county to kill protesters," he stated.
