National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga on Sunday brushed aside calls for him to retire, stating he was still able to lead the country.
This declaration might cause serious consequences for the Opposition if the famous Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) reportedly signed by NASA co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka and the former Prime Minister is anything to go by.
According to the 2013 MOU, Odinga was supposed to serve for one term as President and pass the mantle to Mr Musyoka.

It is understood that since the Opposition leader did not win the 2013 election, he asked for another shot at the Presidency in 2017 and signed another MoU with the Wiper leader.
After losing in the August polls, he petitioned the Supreme Court to annul the presidential election, a case which he won.
The court ordered for a fresh election within 60 days which the NASA leader withdrew from and urged his supporters to boycott the polls.
This move has not gone down well with former NASA legislators who stated that Odinga was taking the Kamba community for a ride.
Led by former Mbooni MP Kisoi Munyao and ex-Kitui Central lawmaker Joe Mutambo, the leaders noted that Mr Odinga wants to snatch Kalonzo's chance to run the 2022 presidential race.
Mutambo noted that the formation of National Resistance Movement (NRM) as NASA's wing is a scheme aimed to sabotage Kalonzo's chance to contest the next General Election.
Musyoka is yet to publicly comment on the matter but is facing pressure from local leaders who want him to ditch NASA and launch his own political path.
"The agreement was very clear, to let Kalonzo be the presidential flagbearer, but on realizing that he had lost, Odinga ran way from CORD to form the NASA coalition.
"He has lost in NASA, now he is forming NRM, this is a way of conning Kambas," remarked Mr Mutambo.
