Thr group is said to have followed the CS to the school and demanded his address. However, he left without speaking to the crowd sparking the chaos.

Gunshots were heard outside the school and journalists were locked inside the compound not being permitted to leave the premises.

In the mayhem, a vehicle belonging to Citizen Tv had its window broken after the group threw stones inside the school.

Police were forced to step in to disperse the group with teargas as the candidates watched from the balcony of their classrooms.

Tension is still high in Kawangware 56 five days after clashes between rival youths in the area.

After the repeat presidential election on Thursday, violence erupted in the evening where rival groups believed to be NASA and Jubilee supporters engaged in stone throwing.

During the fracas, several businesses were reduced to ashes with one person being killed as police tried to restore calm.

Three Class Eight pupils from Ndurarua Primary School were injured after being caught in the chaos while returning home from the school.

The tension was rife in the area on the eve of the October 26 fresh presidential poll after a group of youth reportedly affiliated with NASA warned residents against participating in the election.

On Sunday, opposition leader Raila Odinga urged the residents to exercise peace accusing the government of using the outlawed Mungiki sect to attack the residents.
