Uganda's President Yoweri Museveni on Monday congratulated President Uhuru Kenyatta on his re-election in last week's repeat poll.
In a statement, Museveni noted that Mr Kenyatta's win is a good sign that the will of Kenyans was upheld in a free and fair election process.
"Your re-election is a clear testimony of the trust you have earned from the people of Kenya," the statement read.
He also indicated that Mr Kenyatta's win is a proof of the good efforts made towards the development of Kenya and the East African region for the last five years.
Mr Museveni also assured the President-elect that Uganda would closely work with him to strengthen the working relationships between the two countries.
