NASA Leader Calls for Maraga to be President

Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has stated that the October 26 election was shambolic and lacked legitimacy thus President Uhuru Kenyatta should not be sworn in.

He suggested that the way forward would be to let Chief Justice David Maraga take over the country on a caretaker basis until fresh elections are held in 90 days.

Khalwale justified his exclusion of Speaker Justin Muturi to be the caretaker President noting that he was not elected by a supermajority (combination of Governors and opposition MP's).

The former Senator acknowledged that both President Kenyatta and National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga command a huge following and should engage in dialogue for the country to move forward.

"I am for the talks because of the stalemate that the country has sunk into. The talks should only guarantee executive power in case a joint government is formed.

"If in doubt, let the servers be opened in presence of Jubilee, NASA and the police.

"If that will not be done, then the talks can be as well called off, then CJ Maraga takes over the state on a caretaker basis as we prepare for another election in 90 days," stated Khalwale while speaking to Kenyans.co.ke.

He also warned against swearing-in Kenyatta stating the country was facing trying times and his 7.4 million votes were 'cooked' at the Bomas of Kenya.

"Lest we forget the so-called Jubilee votes (7.4 million) were cooked at Bomas and the actual number of votes was 3.5 million votes.

"If push comes to shove and that happens, then we will have no option but to swear in Raila based on the August results (in the server)," remarked Khalwale.
