Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala on Tuesday divulged why Chief Justice David Maraga might throw out the presidential election petitions challenging President Uhuru Kenyatta's win.
Speaking in Mama Ngina Girls Secondary school where he had gone to oversee the conduct of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), Mr Balala noted that the Chief Justice is wiser and has learnt the adverse effects of the repeat election.
"I believe the Supreme court is wiser and has analyzed the impact of the previous ruling, every day we delay, every day it counts on losses," he stated.
According to the CS, the country's progress and economy has suffered a significant setback due to the current political stalemate.

He further noted that the cases filed by former Kilome MP Harun Mwau, activists Njonjo Mue and Khalef Khalif are not substantial.
Nonetheless, he noted that the filed election petitions are good for the Jubilee Party in that Mr Kenyatta will be absolved from the rest of the opposition led by Raila Odinga.
"It is good that the people have gone to court because we want President Kenyatta to be vindicated from the rest of the opposition and be declared by the Supreme Court to be the election winner.
"If you did not go to court, do not blame the judiciary of doing the right thing this time round," he noted.
In their petition, the appellants noted that the conduct of the repeat poll was not held according to the law as directed by the Apex Court on September 1.

The petitioners want the court to declare that Kenyatta was not validly elected and that the declaration by IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati is null and void.
